lyrics by Black Eyed Peas | ----- Troia finds herself standing in a seemingly abandoned building. Lights - from so far overhead their sources can't easily be seen - illuminate several yards in either direction before fading into shadows, which darkness then swallows. There is no telling where the walls to this building are, how far away, or if there even are any. She might have been spooked, or concerned, were it not for her purpose of being here clear in her mind. Soon to be in her sight. She takes one last step forward, knowing it would spring the trap. Things jump from holes in the floor and grab at her wrists, effectively chaining her in place. The villain cackles ecstatically, his sound heralding his entrance into view from whatever hiding place he'd been in. He takes position a top a high platform, so he can look down on her, and grins evilly. He makes a gesture and brighter lights flood a large arena behind him, revealing those who had been captured before. "Are these who you're looking for?" he asks rhetorically, and laughs again. He sweeps his arm around towards them. "By all means! Join them!" She frowns in the direction of the captive heroes. She can't quite see her faces, but their uniforms betray their identities to her. They are those the Titans have been trying to find. Those for whom it had finally been decided the team had to split up to find in time. And now here she was, having reached her goal, but not able to reach her communicator. "You don't seriously think I'm going down without a fight," she says to the villain. "Oh, no attempt at a diplomatic solution first?" he mocks her. "I expected better of you." "You're not worth it." She gestures with her head towards the captives. "Obviously you're evil. I get it. Everyone gets it. Now it's your turn." "Big words for a small girl. A small, *trapped* girl...." She jerks her arms against the restraints, and they break away from the floor. "Hardly," she scoffs. He grins menacingly. "I didn't mean those," he informs her with a slow shake of his head. Suddenly a half dozen or so armed minions appear under the platform, one carrying a weapon designed for her weakness. "There's no way out. There's no way in," he states what she already knows. "And you without your friends," he adds with mock sadness. Abruptly his demeanor changes back to sinister, and gives her a look that indicates it's her move. Troia tilts her head towards the sky, or a ceiling that isn't apparent. She opens her mouth, inhales, and begins to sing. "Leeeet's get it started, in hereeee...." Her voice echoes away into the darkness. The villain raises a confused eyebrow. Almost immediately a male voice responds in kind to Troia. "And the base keeps-," it states first. Then, on beat, Troia holds out her hand and Kyle takes a step out to his left, appearing from behind Troia to stand just behind her left shoulder. "-runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin'," he starts to sing. Troia holds out her other hand and, on cue, Natalie steps out to Troia's right, mirroring Kyle, and joins him in singing, "and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin'-" Troia moves her left hand higher, and Hawkgirl steps out past Kyle , taking up position just behind his left shoulder. "And runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin'," she begins singing with the other two. Troia mimics her own movement with her right hand, and Batgirl appears, mirroring Hawkgirl, and also joins in the singing. "and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and!" They all stop, and one last voice picks up the song. "In this context-," Troia takes one step to the side, revealing Krypton singing. "-there's no disrespect." Troia steps again, back in the direction she came from, but placing herself behind Krypton. "So when I bust my rhyme-," he continues. "You break your necks," all of the Titans sing together as they take up attack stances. The villain regains his ability to reason by this point, and orders the minions forward. "We got five minutes-," Krypton continues on singing alone, passing on information through the song "-for us to disconnect-" Troia turns to regard with the team while he sings. "-from all intellect and let the rhythm effect." In beat with Krypton's singing, she points to Kyle then towards the villain. "So loose your inhibition-" and Kyle blurs away. She points to Natalie then towards the captives. "-follow your intuition-" and Natalie heads out. She points to Hawkgirl then towards the minions. "-free your inner soul-" and Hawkgirl takes off. She points to Batgirl then towards the far darkness. "-and break away from tradition," and Batgirl jumps away. Finally Troia places a hand on Krypton's shoulder. "Cuz when we-" "-be out," she sings with him, giving her last direction. He looks at her and continues alone, "girl it's pullin," "-without," she sings with him, her answer. Krypton grins and looks back at the villain. "You wouldn't believe how we wow shit-" "out!" all the Titans sing together, their voices resounding from all around and momentarily confusing the minions. "Burn it till it's-" Krypton sings his action of heat visioning into a few minions. "-burned out," Hawkgirl and Batgirl join in with him in finishing up the minions with electric mace and blowing up batarangs. "Turn it till it's-" Troia sings as she flies up and around to the villain's side. "-turned out," Natalie and Kyle join in with her as they cause him to flip head over heals off the platform via tripping and gravity work. Krypton takes back the song, narrating where his team members land in relation to the villain. "Act up from North-" Troia. "West-" Kyle. "East-" Hawkgirl. "South," they all sing together as Krypton lands. More minions appear, from all directions this time. But the team has the villain surround as well, while Natalie and Batgirl continue towards the captives. "Everybody," Batgirl, Krypton, and Hawkgirl sing as a warning. "Yeah," Kyle chimes in on his own. "Everybody!" the three repeat with Troia adding in her voice as punctuation. "Yeah," Kyle also repeats himself. "Let's get into it," Krypton and Hawkgirl sing. "Yeah!" Kyle agrees. "Get stupid," Kyle and Batgirl sing to the villain. Krypton gestures to the villain and sings, "Come on." "Get it started," Troia, Hawkgirl and Natalie sing to the villain. "Come on," Krypton challenges. The three repeat their statement to the villain, "get it started." Krypton sings his support "Ye-ah." "Get it started!" the whole team calls out. The minions jump the team. "Let's get it started," Krypton and Troia sing as they lay into their attackers. "Ha," Kyle accents his fist connecting with a jaw with. "Let's get it started," Natalie and Batgirl sing as they reach the controls to the various things holding the captives. "In here," the team sings, a couple members gesturing to indicate the building or the floor. "Let's get it started," Krypton and Troia repeat as they continue to fight. Kyle throws in another "ha," as he slams another attacker. "Let's get it started," Natalie and Batgirl echo while Natalie covers Batgirl's back so she can work. "In here," the team sings, with various poundings into the ground. "Let's get it started," Krypton and Troia sing again - after all this is a refrain. Kyle keeps up his part. "Ha." Hawkgirl starts singing a counter melody as she swings through combat and the rest of the team goes on with the refrain. "YahAhAhAhAhAhYa..." Natalie and Batgirl continue on with, "Let's get it started." And the rest of the team chimes in "in here!" Krypton and Troia one more time. "Let's get it started." Kyle, "Ha." Natalie and Batgirl, of course, "Let's get it started." And everyone again, "In here!" "Yeah," Krypton says with approval at the way the team is working. The first of the captives' chamber is opened, and though it didn't make a sound and Batgirl didn't alert anyone, everyone notices. "Ooo!" all the girls sing in acknowledgment. The villain's big bad muscle steps up to facilitate his master's escape. Krypton starts singing alone again, some direction, some narration. "Lose control," Punch. "Of body and soul." Return punch. "Don't move too fast people-" The muscle and Krypton grab each other. "-just take it slow." Troia positions herself. The muscle and Krypton lock each other in face plant attempts. "Don't get ahead, just jump into it." Hawkgirl positions herself. Having gotten all the instruction from Krypton's singing, Troia dive bombs the muscle's knees from behind. "Ya'll here's a body," Krypton lets the muscle get the better of him, and in doing so the bad guy falls over Troia and into Hawkgirl's waiting mace. "The Titans do it!" Kyle runs around pummeling minions in beat as he picks up the song. "Get started," punch. "Get stupid," dope slap. "Don't worry about it," kick. "People will walk you through it," he stops in front of two minions. "Step by step," Batgirl and Natalie join in singing, as they carefully start a chain effect unlock. Kyle takes two steps, one on each word 'step', to mock the minions, then blurs again. "Like an infant new kid," Kyle sings alone the insult to a minion taken down with ease, then looks up "Inch by inch," Kyle sings with Batgirl and Natalie while he nudges the other minion slightly. "-with the new solution," Kyle finds himself singing alone for a moment, and so takes out the other minion. "Transmit hits," Hawkgirl and Krypton chime in with Kyle while they each bat someone into the air. "-with no delusion," Kyle finishes with a smile. Troia shows up at Krypton's side and sings with him, "The feeling's irresistible and that's how we move it!" The two high five on the last beat. "Yo," Kyle calls out. "Everybody," Batgirl, Krypton, and Hawkgirl sing as a prelude to victory. "Uh," Kyle tries to get in with. "Everybody!" the three repeat with Troia adding in her voice as punctuation. "Uh," Kyle also repeats himself. Troia notices and looks his way. "Let's get into it," Krypton and Hawkgirl sing, indicating the captives. "Hey!" Kyle demands everyone's attention, and points towards where the villain is getting away. "Get stupid," Kyle and Troia sing. Krypton gestures to the team and sings, "Come on." "Get it started," Troia, Hawkgirl and Natalie sing to the villain. "Come on," Krypton repeats himself. The three repeat their warning to the villain, "get it started." Krypton sings his support "Ye-ah." "Get it started!" the whole team calls out. Kyle takes off, singing, "And the Base keeps runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin'," as he runs rings around the villain to keep him from getting away. The villain whirls around to face down the Titans with a weapon he had run off to retrieve. Clearly having caught the team a bit off guard Krypton calls out for everyone, "C'mon y'all, Lets get-" while Troia takes off after Kyle to help him until the rest of the team arrives, and joins in singing with him "-and runnin' runnin', and runnin runnin' and...." Natalie and Batgirl turn over freeing the rest of the captives to the one already out, and head off to join in the team effort to bring down the villain. Both the song and the fight descend into the Titans playing off each other for the best effect. Troia and Batgirl team up in distraction techniques. "Woohoo!" Kyle and Natalie go after the weapon with the intention of playing keep away. "Uh huh." Krypton takes the lead on brute force. "Let's get-" Troia and Batgirl come in right behind him to accentuate the attack. "-woohoo!" Kyle, throwing in a few extra moves, and Hawkgirl follow right behind like an aftershock. "In here." Krypton keeps up the cycle so the villain has no reprieve from being attacked. "While y'all get-" Troia and Batgirl add in their abilities, "-woohoo!" Kyle and Natalie managed to pin the villain down together, "Uh huh." Krypton gets one last swing in, "Let's get-" Troia and Batgirl take up precautionary positions, "-woohoo!" And Kyle and Hawkgirl finish the guy off. "In here!" Once the villain is defeated, the fight turns into celebratory dancing while the Titans keep up the song for one more round. "While y'all get-" Krypton pulls out with a 'raise the roof'. "-woohoo!" Troia and Batgirl start hip knocking. "Uh huh," Kyle's a blur of motion while Natalie pulls Krypton into a two person hustle. "Let's get-" Krypton throws Natalie into a turn. "-woohoo!" Troia and Batgirl continue dancing with each other. "In here," Kyle and Hawkgirl keep dancing as well, not that anyone can see what Kyle's doing. "Oh, oh, oh!" Troia sings as she gestures the team to come together. The four girls smile at what they know Troia is thinking, and start singing while they move "Ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya-" they circle the two boys and give them prankster looks, and continue singing, "-ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya..." then they spring on the boys, but it's really just a big group hug. "Ya!" Everyone laughs. Kyle blurs out, and runs circles around them all singing, "Runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin'-" "Kyle!" Krypton calls out loudly to get his attention. "The song's over, man." Kyle stops running around and looks at the team, his shoulders slumping ever so slightly. "Oh." Fade to black. The dreamer wakes up. Safe and sound in Titan's Tower. "What was that?!" |
