New Sim -
Celestial Fleet is proud to announce a new member sim! Run slightly different from most PBEM games, which run in the setting of one ship or starbase, our new member sim is made up of two ships: The USS Hawk and the USS Raptor. The game has been running for nearly a year through yahoogroups, and for many more years before that in different incarnations. We are excited to have such a long running game join such a new fleet, and hope we can help each other grow more successful togther!
Rating: R
The Hawk/Raptor is for 18+ years old and contants adult content both in the game and on the website.
Celestial Fleet Newsletter for the Month of May
Hello All:
Celestial Fleet Award Winners-
It was an amazing month of May for Celestial Fleet and its ships. We
recently had our Nominations for Clestial Fleet Awards. All the
nominees where well deserved of the nomination, but we however
could only pick just one in each catogory. It was a difficult choice and
all those that are nominated are winners in our eyes but here are your
Celestial Fleet Award winners for the Month of May. Congratulations
to all of you, you make your ships and your fleet very proud of you all.
Best Character Development: Theresa who plays Head of Requistions
Lt. First Class Alexia Withermore of the USS Hawk. We choose her
because the character was nothing when it started out. Barely a history,
no prescence or personality. This was her first game, and her first real
character. She had never done anything like RPG or PBeM before and
she was brand new to writing in general. She took the character and
over time developed her into an intrical part of the crew, she just
miscarried a baby, and developed relationships-personal and friend
wise with many key characters.
Best Forwarding of Mission: Theresa for her character of 2nd
Officer/Chief of Operations Lt. Commander Stephanie CarrMicheal.
We had a player leave the game without warning which threw
everything into a mess, and she picked right up, and took control
through her character moving the mission along as though it had never
happened.
Best Overall Post: Matt who plays Chief of Flight Operations
Commander Ruhl "Flashheart" Kodar of the USS Raptor. Hmm, Ohh
my God, was all I could say when I seen this post. Just an overall
amazing post. We always knew Matt was good, but we did not know
just how good until we seen this post. This was his introduction post to
the game, and although he should get the nominee for Rookie, he is no
rookie in our eyes.
Best Use of Other Characters: Captain Ace Decade of the USS
Liberty. Ace was chosen because he tries to encorporate each and
every character in all the post he does.
Most Improved Poster: Lieutenant J.G. Scott McInnis of the USS
Griffin. The entire crew of the Griffin is impressed with McInnis's come
back. He had stopped posting for so long that his character had been
declared killable. But before posting got back aorund to the Captain,
who would have had the character killed, he began to pull himself up
from the boot straps and over the course of May made an incrediable
turnaround. Not only did he post everytime his turn came around, he
joined in on two other crew memebers' posts. And his posts weren't
simply "Hi, I'm still alive and here" type stuff, they contained plot
twisting or forwarding of story and excellent character development for
his own character. In merely one month McInnis turned himself into the
kind of poster anyone would be more than happy to have on their ship.
Most Valuable Poster: Lieutenant Commander Ryan Sable of the USS
Griffin. We would have had no mission this month without her. We
tried a character history episode, and she not only rose to the challenge,
she surpassed it. She set the story in motion and explained things both
through her posts and in a "story background info" e-mail for those who
didn't know or understand what was going on. She was consistantly
available to help others with their posts. She also managed to do
character development and some plot forwarding in most everything
she wrote. All her efforts in good posting have helped make May one
of the Griffin's top three months since we started.
Recruitment Award: Walt of the USS Hawk/Raptor. Walt has since left
the game. His life has gotten the better of him, but we would not feel
right nominating anyone but him. He went above and beyond as a
player recruiting for the group. He even made a web site for us during
his time with the game.
Rookie of the Month: Todd for Chief of Tatical Lt. First Class Loren
Putski of the USS Raptor. Todd, always makes a splash in whatever
group he joins. There is a lot to know about the Hawk and the Raptor
history, and he aquainted himself with it and then asked any questions
he needed to before he posted his intro. He did a wonderful job the
entire month, moving along well with the group as he intregrated his
character into the game.
Banner Contest-
Come and show us what you got. The Celestial Fleet is having its very
first Banner Contest. We are looking for those of you out there that
think you have what it takes to create a noticable, eye catching,
appealing banner for the Celestial Fleet. Please send you submissions to
the council at CFCouncil@yahoogroups.com.
Ace Decade's Real Talk-
A new monthly segment to the Celestial Fleet newsletter is Ace
Decade's Real Talk. Ace will be talking to members of the fleet about
simming. His first interview starting the month of June is
with...himself...Ace Decade. He will ask the tough questions, and give
new insight into the world of simming from the players themselves. We
all look forward to his interview with himself in June, and all interviews
to follow.
The USS Hawk Anniversary-
The USS Hawk Celebrates it's one year anniversary at yahoo groups.
Although yahoo can be a pain in the backside they have done well by
The USS Hawk over the past year and on the 18th of June they will
celebrate their 1 year anniversary. The game itself is going on its 5th
year, and although it is now housed at yahoo the legacy of the game
lives on. There are only 2 orginal members still about in the game and
out of its current roster the group has flurished averaging just for the
month of May alone a wopping 620 post. We wish them continued
successful simming, and congratulate them on thier coming anniversary.
Banner-
We would like to extend our pats on the back this month to Captain
Myst. Who created a wonderful banner for Celestial Fleet. If you
would like to add the banner to your website you can do so with the
following link. Nice Job Captain Myst.
